Sorry for my delay in posting! It's been about 10 days since I've updated. I'm a major slacker I know. I am absolutely blaming in on the GORGEOUS weather we have been having in Nebraska for the last week. Seriously, it's been in the 70's and 80's...In NEBRASKA....in MARCH! Unheard of. We have broken so many records in the last week, and records that were set back in the 1800's....so, this just doesn't happen.
We've spent lots and lots of time playing outside, and momma has spent a bunch of time sorting clothes and buying some new spring clothes for the girls. The girls have just gone from size 18 month to size 24 month, and naturally, we didn't have much at all for spring (or summer) anyway since I didn't know for sure what size they would be, so I HAD to go shopping =). The girls got several little dress and skorts outfits, a couple of pairs of shorts, and some sleeveless shirts and short sleeved onsies. Whew!
In other news, Livvy now has enough hair to pull up into a little Pebbles pony tail. She is SO proud of her hair! Now she can be like her sister Bri! She is so excited!! Oh, and books! We LOVE books! We are reading all the time! I love it!!!
Oh, and what else have we been up to? Well, it was our mission to re-finish our basement (or at least part of it) before little man got here so we could have some extra space to accomodate our growing family. I am pleased to say that we have at least started the task now (less than 12 weeks pre delivery - ha!). Friday we got a dumpster, Gramz and Grandpa came down to help and watch the girls, and we started tearing things out of the basement and purging. We have a 1920's home that never had a finished basement, but the previous owners did a half attempt at kind of making it more livable down there with some wood paneling and crappy ceiling tiles, so we had to tear that out. So far, definite success. Yesterday we managed to fill our dumpster. It felt so great to purge!!! Probably a bit of nesting mixed in there too...lol =).
So that's what's going on with us! I promise I will post a picture of mommy and her growing baby bump very soon. I'd have stuck them at the end of this post, but I didn't have any on my camera. I will try to have Si snap a couple tonight or tomorrow.
Hope you all had a wonderfully safe and enjoyable St. Patricks Day, and enjoy the rest of your weekend! It's back to work for me! Talk to you later!!
Until next time -
Megan
I swear they are so grown up!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you better get posting belly pics lady!!!
They are SO grown up! I totally agree! Little ladies they are...these are NOT babies!
DeleteI know, I know! I feel bad for not posting pics more often! With the girls I posted belly pics almost every week at this point...of course I was growing more with the girls than I am with this little peanut, but still! =). I promise I will get on it!
those are some gorgeous girls! :) we've been outside a lot lately, too....i love this warm weather!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I know - I just love the warmth! I just can't get enough! The only negative is that I had to buy appropriate clothes for the girls to wear...but I would have had to do that anyway come summer, so I'm not complaining!
DeleteHow exciting! Get before and after shots of your remodel!
ReplyDeleteAre you starting to collect baby boy clothes yet???
I need to remember to do that!!
DeleteYes, I have started to purchase baby boy clothes. I had some that I had bought for the girls (when I thought they were boys) and never returned, so I have some onesies, a couple pairs of pj's, some receiving blankets, but everything else I'm buying. I wish it were garage sale season already - I'm in the mood to hunt for good deals - while I still can!
Your little girls are absolutely adorable!! I love that pic in your header!!
ReplyDeleteI bet they are the best of friends and it is so nice to hear you are having a litle boy to add to the mix.
Good job on the basement, I bet it feels great to have done it :)
I hope you enjoyed your shopping trip, the outfits sound so cute, just think, you'll be buying boy clothes soon!!
Aw, thanks!! The picture in the header is their new Easter pic =). I realized that they hadn't had "real" documentation pictures taken since their first birthday, so we were overdue!
DeleteAs for the basement, it definitely feels good to have gotten it started FINALLY! And the purging was really nice! Soon it will be time to buy lots of materials and start doing the actual remodel work. Oye! Wish us luck!!
We had to make a mad dash to pick up some summer clothes too---it's incredible! 70s and 80s in March!! Our trees are all blooming----everything is about a month ahead of schedule (gardening-wise).
ReplyDeleteLove the little pony tail. I remember how excited I got when I could put my girls' hair up---so much fun!! :)
I know! My hyacinths are blooming, my tulips are already 4-5" up and will be blooming within the next week for sure, and my daffodils will probably start blooming before that point as well. It's SO early! I love it, but I wonder what will happen once all of the spring flowers bloom...will be be able to plant annuals earlier than usual this year??
DeleteOh yes, there was so much excitement when Livvy got her first ponytail! She was (and still is!) SO proud! She happily brings me in a hair band and flower/ribbon for her hair. SO cute! I remember how excited I was when we first put Bri's hair in a ponytail too...it was awesome! But that was like 6 months ago! I can't believe how different the girls are!! =)
Look at those CUTE outfits and even CUTER little girls!! I just cleaned out my girls' closet today... it's crazy that I really thought they'd be able to wear the clothes they wore last summer! These kiddos are EXPENSIVE! Jealous with that remodeling gig... I love home improvements!! Can't wait to see some before/after pics! Weather is getting active... maybe we'll get to meet soon?! :)
ReplyDeleteThe weather this winter is CRAZY- but I'm not complaining! I just had to dig out the summer/spring clothes as well. Good luck with the basement project- looks like you are making great progress.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it when you HAVE to shop?? :-)
ReplyDeleteLittle waterfall ponytails are my favorite! Your girls are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your warm weather. Around here it has been cold, rainy, and super windy. Makes me want to stay huddled under a blanket all day!
LOVE seeing pictures of your sweet little babies. :) Hooray for the spiky pony tail... so cute. And I'm a little jealous of the basement (when you get it done). In Texas, basements are unheard of.
