Hey everyone -
I know that some of my followers have already been blessed with beautiful babies, but several of you have not experienced that joy just yet. For my fellow infertiles who are still actively trying - do any of you need some Follistim for your IVF or injectible IUI cycles?
I have 4 (four) - 900 IU unopened boxes of Follistim sitting in my refridgerator. They expire in June 2011. I saved them in the event that something happened during our pregnancy or in the event that we would need to do another IVF (typical infertile, right?).
Anyway, as our girlies are now 3.5 months old and we have 14 frosties safely tucked in our RE's freezer, I am 99.9% sure that I would have no use for these meds before they would expire. Would you? As there are 4 boxes, they could easily be split up between multiple people if there are multiple people that could use them. I'm not asking for any money for the meds, just your 100% honesty that you really do need it for your personal use and don't intend to sell it. If you aren't in town I am happy to ship it, so don't let that deter you (although I would accept the cost to ship since it will have to be overnighted to keep the meds cold enough and that can get pricey depending on where it's getting shipped to).
And just FYI - this is/was my "lucky batch" of Follistim. All 3 of my pregnancies occurred while I was taking this lot of Follistim =). It took the 3rd time to be the charm and have a successful "full term" pregnancy, but hey, I was thrilled to get pregnant PERIOD, and the Follistim got me there. I hope it can help one or some of you out there in bloggy land. And if nobody needs it, no worries. I can donate it to my RE clinic. I just donated a ton of meds last year after our BFP so I'd like to spread the wealth a little bit and help some other ladies out.
Just let me know!
**Update** all 4 of my 900 IU cartridges have now been sent to new homes =). To my knowledge Ms. O still has a 300 IU cartridge of Follisitm up for grabs, as well as some Menopur, and I have a friend (KC) that still has a 450 cartridge of Gonal F. Same deal with them - no charge for the meds, you just pay the shipping. Thanks ladies!
Megan
For those of you impatiently waiting for updated pictures of the girls, don't you fret. . .it's on my agenda for hopefully later today after we go SUV/Minivan shopping =).
I am in my IVF cycle now and am using Follistim. I would love to have some. I would be happy to pay for the shipping or whatever else you would accept. I am currently taking 225iu daily but could see that increasing tomorrow. I actually go tomorrow to see how my cycle is going as it hasnt been progressing well. Please let me know. Thank you so much. You are wonderful for offering your leftover meds!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Shawna! Good luck on your IVF cycle! I'd be happy to send you some =). Shoot me an email (creightonchic at msn dot com) and give me your contact information and address. How many boxes do you think you would need?
ReplyDeleteHi Megan! I would like to have some of your follistim. My hubby and I have been trying for 3 yrs now and afer 3 miscarriages we are ready to move on to the next step. Our RE wants us to try IUI and I will be taking follistim 600 but due to the cost of the meds and treatment(my insurance does not cover infertility) we are still saving up.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that this treatment works.
Thanks,
Teresa
Hey Teresa -
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your losses. Hopefully the IUI will do the trick and you will be able to have a happy healthy pregnancy. It seems that very few insurance companies cover infertility procedures and more and more has to be paid out of pocket and in advance. So they think you will need 600 IU total for the cycle? They usually start your dose out pretty low and adjust it as necessary. Any idea how soon you and your hubby will likely be doing a cycle?
Hi Megan. I am in the same boat as you are. If you don't have enough follistim to go round, I'd like to link up with one of the ladies that replies and send them mine. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHey ladies!
ReplyDeleteMy first day of treatment is supposed to be today at 9am but after finding out that they are still in the process of being in network with my insurance.I cancelled! The meds are expensive on top of the treatment itself. They wrote me a prescription for follistem 600,novarel and prometrium.
I would really appreciate if you have an excess of follistim.
Teresa
Ms. O.- AWESOME! I bet we can help out several ladies with our follistim! Send me your email address please so we don't have to chat via comments:-). And how much extra do you have?
ReplyDeleteTheresa- okay, so it sounds like you need a 600 IU pen. Did your RE give you the pen itself already? The pen is the injector for the medication. The medication comes in cartridge form ( or mine did anyway). I can send you one if the 900 IU cartridges and that should be more than enough for your cycle:-). Send me an email with your name and contact information okay? My email is creightonchic@msn.com. :-)
Probably a day late, but if there is still any Follistim available, I could use some. We are OOP and I am on high doses. Please contact me at tripplebe@hotmail.com.
ReplyDeleteHey Susan- I. Will email you. I still have some and Ms. O has some too. I also got an offer from another girl for some leftover Gonal F, so we are still trying to help as many people as possible:-).
ReplyDeleteIf in doubt ladies leave a comment. I will let you know if/when we run out:-).
Hi ladies. I am not doing a cycle until October, but will need some for IVF #3 and hopefully the last. I will be on maxx dose 300iU for 10 days. I still have 900iU left so I can use all I can get. If anyone is willing to donate, please let me know. Thank you and God bless.
ReplyDeleteHey Shelly! My follistim actually expires in June of this year, so it will be expired by the time of your cycle - boo. I can see if Ms. O's will still be okay in October if you want - she has a 300 left I think. Paying out of pocket definitely stinks and every little bit helps!
ReplyDeleteAny idea if the follistim is good after it's expiration date? If it is, I am happy to send you my last vial =). I just don't want to send you something that could potentially mess up your cycle because it isn't as effective as it once was. I'd feel awful if that happened! Let me know hun okay?
Hi There,
ReplyDeleteDo you still have the LUCKY Follistim? I am totally out of pocket and need about 900 more and am trying to save where I can. I am so happy for you! God Bless your family!
